The SEC tried to pull a fast one by hoping the 12 team playoff would be approved before the UT/OK announcement. Someone, probably A&M, leaked and threw the plan off the track.

I don't blame ND for wanting to expand the playoff but if Swarbrick knew of the pending SEC move while negotiating for expansion, then shame on him.

The best counter to the SEC wanting all the marbles is to allow a max of only 2 teams per conference in the playoff.
